They were there for our boys to comfort them in the army hospitals and on the navy hospital ships.

What is a nurse and who was the first nurse?

The army nurses were caring and compassionate to the wounded soldiers.  They offered courage to those soldiers who were in despair.  They cleaned and  bound up their wounds.  They provided exceptional and professional care to all soldiers in their wards.

Are you interested in learning what it takes to be a nurse?  Nurses need to  give people medicine, treat wounds of all kinds.  They must be able to give emotional support to patients and their families.

I believe we should honor these brave girls who gave of themselves in this selfless way.
